Herbal tea also named tisane (a French word for a herb, fruit or flower infusion) are a major part of the tea world, but did you know they're not technically tea.
Only beverages containing the plant Camellia sinensis are considered true tea.
Herbal infusions that do not contain Camellia sinensis are not teas.
Virtually all types of botanicals or dried fruits of all different cuts and grades that can be steeped in water and ingested can become tisanes.
Herbal infusions are popular as they do not contain caffeine making it a perfect option for the late afternoon and evening and have many healing properties.
